Client of the Month: James Davidson

We have some of the most amazing clients at BASI Academy & Studio! To celebrate our diverse and incredibly special clientele, we’ve decided to start doing a Client of the Month spotlight. We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving to be the very first Client of the Month in 2020 than James Davidson! Keep reading to learn more about James.

NAME: James Davidson

RESIDES: Originally from Long Island, New York, but moved to Southern California in 1966

OCCUPATION: Retired Trial Attorney

YEARS DOING PILATES: 10 months

YEARS AT BASI ACADEMY & STUDIO: 7 months

SESSION FREQUENCY: 2x/week

TEACHER: Deniz Gulan
“Thank God for Deniz because she is patient, she is very careful, very thoughtful, creative, and she takes me through exercises that are not even in the book, I think, but she creates them because of my—to some degree—limitations.”

FAVORITE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT: Reformer
“I think it’s called the Transformer? Reformer. Not transformer, reformer. It does transform. When I come in I’m transformed!”

IMPACT OF REGULAR PILATES PRACTICE: “In general it has helped me a great deal to just be able to be more agile, more balanced, stronger.”

ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS: “The owner is Rael . . . he’s a really great guy. I’m glad he set up this studio because he’s bringing in people who are good instructors, and he has a terrific program, and I’m thankful for that. I think other people should be coming here because he’s really good, the studio’s good. It’s more like a family affair than just a studio to come to and take exercises and leave.”
