Coming in 2019: BASI’s Learn From the Leaders Conference

BASI’s Learn From the Leaders Conference is one of the world’s premier Pilates conferences. Here at BASI HQ, we’ve been excitedly preparing for LFTL scheduled in June of 2018. But the more we worked on it, the more it felt like we were pushing hard for an event that didn’t want to come together with the excellence BASI represents.

Among the difficulties we were trying to work around was we discovered the hotel is going to be under construction. Additionally, and good news but a lot of work, is that it looks like BASI HQ is going to buy a building and move in Spring of 2018. Also, Rael will be recovering from shoulder surgery and he always wants to be at his best for any event, especially LFTL!

There were other smaller things too that made us feel the conference wanted to move to 2019. So we had to consider it, but we resisted. Everyone, Rael in particular, was very committed and it’s very hard to let go of a commitment like that. We worried about letting our community down.

Perhaps you remember a time when you were working hard on something that wasn’t flowing. Then, when you finally let go, it all came together even better than you thought. That’s what happened when we decided to have the next Learn From the Leaders conference in 2019.

As soon as we went with the flow (like good Pilates people), we realized that 2019 will be BASI’s 30 year anniversary! Once we tuned into that, we knew what to do. We decided to make LFTL an extra special celebration of Pilates, and BASI’s 30 years of being a leader in Pilates education. The workshops, the presenters, the party — are already shaping up to be fantastic. Plus, the hotel will be freshly remodeled and beautiful, and so will Rael’s shoulder.

And so, we invite you to join us for Learn From the Leaders 2019! It’s sooner than you think :).
